The next Pandiaspora Medical Mission Programme is from 1st - 31st July 2008
If you are a registered member of Pandiaspora, you can now register online (click here) to join the Pandiaspora Medical Mission Team to Nigeria. The next medical mission will take place from 1st through 31st July 2008. Further medical missions are planned for October 2008 and January 2009, and quarterly thereafter. You can volunteer on the team for a minimum period of two to four weeks and as many times as your schedule permits.
If you are interested in longer term medical mission work in Nigeria or wish to return home permanently, please check out the Pandiaspora Inititives on "Pandiaspora Rural Health Initiative" or the "Nigerian Diaspora Come Back Home Programme" under Our Projects. You can also volunteer at our Abuja or any of the satellite offices in Kano, Port Harcourt or Lagos.
This year's medical mission activities will be held in July and October, and will build upon the collective experience of previous medical mission teams to different parts of Nigeria. As usual you can register in any professional category reflecting your specialist experience. If you are medically qualified, however, you will normally be assigned to either the Medical (Physicians) or Surgical (Surgeons) Team. This year's medical mission activities will be preceeded by a full day briefing on the local context of the medical missions on location in Nigeria, and twice daily debriefings at 7am and 7pm respectively. The Pandiaspora medical mission manual is now available and is being sent to all registered members.
