How we collect, store and use your information:
We take the privacy and confidentiality issues of our clients, donors and members very seriously. We collect only the information you have provided to us on the membership and/or medical mission application forms. This information is retained on our secure encrypted servers and serves as the official membership database. The members database is password protected and access to this database is restricted to the National Coordinator, the Secretary General and the Administrative Officer. We may contact you by email or telephone to obtain any missing information to complete your membership applicaton. We do not sell or share any personal information in our membership database. We do not accept any form of advertising and do not promote nor endorse any products or organisation on the Pandiaspora website. We do not spam (i.e., send you any solicitations to buy or sell any commercial goods or services) or send junk emails to members and do not share our database with commercial vendors.

The "Pandiaspora name", "Pandiaspora logo" and "Pandiaspora website" at www.pandiaspora.org are registered trademarks of Pandiaspora, and will be used in all communications to members. We consider any acts of phishing, mis-representation, repeated misuse and/or abuse of the "Pandiaspora name" and/or "Pandiaspora logo" as deliberate acts of fraud. We will report such repeated acts of violation to the relevant Government Authorities (EFCC Nigeria) for investigation and possible prosecution and we may take further legal action, if neccessary, to protect the Pandiaspora name, our service recipients and privacy of our donors and members.
We may share the following personal information (Name, Country of Residence, Age, Telephone Number, Email Address, Professional Qualifications) with the following agencies: Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria; the Nigerian National Volunteer Service, Abuja, Nigeria; the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, Abuja, Nigeria; Nigerians in Diaspora Organisations, Major Donors and Sponsors and the Office of the Executive Governor of your state of origin and any of the 36 states and the FCT. We would normally do so, for the purpose of obtaining guarantees and support from Donors and the Government on specific projects which you are involved in and in obtaining clearances from Government. We will also share your information if you have indicated an interest to return home to work on a short or long term basis and we are assissting you in achieving your plans. In all circumstances, we would normally notify you in advance and seek your express written authorization to disclose such information. We would only send you e-mails or "The Pandiaspora eNewsletter" using your registered email addresses to inform and advice about our work and to keep you updated on news and events of interest to members.

This will ensure that all our secure communications to you are delivered to your inbox and not routed to your junk or spam folder. Privacy Policy: The privacy of our clients, patients and members is very important to us. We will not disclose any information that you have provided to us without your express written permission. In all circumstances, we will never disclose patient information including diagnosis, treatment and management. If neccessary we will always refer any such requests to the patients and or the patients primary care doctor, general practitioner or hospital.
Confidentiality Policy: Our client and patient confidentiality policy prevents us from discussing, refuting or confirming any questions or issues relating to the management of patients and patient medical records in our care. In lifethreatening situations we may seek a patient's informed consent to discuss their care with other health professionals or to protect other members of the public. For example we may have to disclose a patient's diagnosis or medical conditions where it is absolutely neccessary to conduct disease outbreak investigations, contact tracing and/or disease containment. In these circumstances, we would strike a balance between the legitimate rights of the patient and the need for public health protection.
Internet Policy: We conduct statistical analysis of unique visits to our website both through the website counter and the statistics provided by our internet service provider (isp). Freedom of Information Act: As a third sector iNGO, Pandiaspora subscribes to the Freedom of Information Act of many countries including Nigeria, the USA and most European countries. We may be required to disclose certain data or information upon request. In all likelihood, such requests and disclosures will not include personally identifiable information, such as names, addresses, date of birth. For example, we may be asked by sponsors or donors to disclose how many members are registered with Pandiaspora, how many patients we have treated, and the demographics of the populations we serve. Some of this information may already be available on our website or other publications and we may disclose same, if requested. We would usually charge a minimal fee for the request as permitted by law to cover the labor time required to collate such information. We will advise the requester of any charges in advance and how to make such payments. In all circumstances, this disclosure will never contain any names or other personal information. We will notify members each time we are requested to respond to a FOI Act Request and we will also provide members with the information we have released to the requesting authority or individual. This is in compliance with our core transparency value.
