Pandiaspora - Mobilising and Securing Brain Gain for Nigeria

What we are doing now

We have started the planning process for medical and educational mission related activities for the July 1-31st period and for the rest of the year.  We are working in collaboration with the respective Nigerians in Diaspora Organisations and local partners to ensure that the skills of Nigerian professionals from the Diaspora can be maximized to achieve sustainable gains. We need your input as to how we can best achieve our goals. If you're having a brain wave of ideas or suggestions - we're here to listen, we're all ears. Afterall its your brains we need.

We Need Your Brain Power - Come On!

Think you've got a BIG idea that can change things and improve lives in Nigeria? As Nigerians in the Diaspora we often lament about how things are not working back home and how we seem to have the solution to every problem in Nigeria.

Here is your chance to turn your BIG idea into an innovative project or invention to benefit Nigerians. If it passes Pandisapora Team's Scrutiny Test we'll submit your proposal to the appropriate Government or Non-Governmental Organisation to assist with pilot-funding and you can even come to Nigeria and implement it. If your big idea is to ban Okadas from plying the streets of Lagos or Port Harcourt - it will probably not pass the test.

Submit a summary proposal of your innovative idea for review in Nigeria

Please send your proposal as a microsoft word document to big.idea@pandiaspora.org and someone from the Pandiaspora Administrative Team will get back to you as soon as possible. Please keep your proposal brief and simple - as an executive summary to a maximum of two pages - A4 sized paper. Write your name and contact details on the top of both pages and ensure you have registered as a member of Pandiaspora before sending your proposal.

Tell us the  Title - the name of your proposal?, Your Aim - What is the most important thing you propose to do?, Your Objectives - Other things you propose to do?, Methods - How you plan to achieve your aims and objectives?, Participants - Who will work with you and Who will benefit from your work?, Location -  Where do you plan to do this project?, Deliverables - What will the local people and the country benefit from your work assuming it is funded and fully implemented?.

To make it easier for you, we have provided an online project proposal form here.  As soon as we receive your proposal, we will contact you to discuss it further. We may then pass it on to relevant authorities in Nigeria for funding consideration.

What happens next: When we receive your proposal, we will catalogue it and send it to be reviewed by a team of Nigerian Intellectuals. The Team meets monthly to review all proposals, so we would inform you within 30 days whether it has passed the first test or not. If it passes, we will assign the intellectual property rights to you and ask you for a full proposal. Where funding is required, the Pandiaspora Team will liaise with authorities in Nigeria to support your big idea. If it doesn't pass, it is most likely because someone else is doing something similar or bigger already or there is no beneift to the local people or the country. Either way, you can always come back to us with bigger ideas.

Please feel free to browse some of the work we are doing now under current initiatives and review the projects that some of the Nigerian Diaspora Organisations have completed in the past.
