Welcome to the Medical Missions Programme of Pandiaspora.
Over the last decade, Individuals and groups of Nigerians in the Diaspora have continued to perform medical missions to different parts of the country to benefit patients, communities and healthcare facilities. Nigerian doctors from the Diaspora have often volunteered their services in collaboration with their local counterparts at private, general and teaching hospitals. Organisations such as MANSAG (Medical Association of Nigerian Specialists and General Practitioners in the UK) and ANPA (Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas) had often led the way in sponsoring medical missions to Abuja and other States of the Federation. Scientists and lecturers have delivered numerous lecturers and offered training programmes at academic institutions and health care facilities. In most cases the services including medical check-ups, drugs, elective and emergency life-saving surgical interventions are provided at no cost to patients and their families.
The Diaspora events in 2007 in Abuja brought together Nigerian professionals from the different Diapsora organisations working together for the first time as a multidisciplinary team. The events featured Nigerian doctors and scientists from Ukraine, Singapore, United Kingdom, Canada, United States, Germany working alongside their Nigerian counterparts at Wuse General Hospital, Maitama General Hospital, National Hospital, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory and Degema General Hospital in Rivers State. We have realized the value of the medical mission efforts and the benfits it brings to patients and the country. We are now planning to implement sustainable medical missions to all parts of the country in collaboration with Federal and State Governments and NGOs.

Should you wish to join the Pandiaspora Team on the next or future medical mission to Nigeria, please register youir interest in the form below and send it to us today. we will contact you to discuss your availibility and logistics. Please note that the deadline to apply for a specific medical mission closes 60 days prior to the 1st start date for that medical mission. For example... membership to the 1 - 31st July 2008 Pandiaspora Team will close on 1st May 2008. This timing is neccessary to enable us make flight and accomodation arrangements for the medical teams on the ground in Nigeria. Before you join the medical mission team, however, you must first register your membership of Pandiaspora and obtain a membership number (which will be emailed to you) and then enterred in the form below.
